Get your Child Active with Carlson Gracie Tucson

Let’s face it, in today’s world it can be difficult to get kids to be physically active and child obesity is becoming more of a problem. Gone are the days of playing baseball in the streets, running around the neighborhood, or riding bikes all over the place. The world has changed, and parents are much more protective. Also, with video and computer games, TV and the internet kids will often choose to stay at home and in their rooms versus going out to do something physical.

Here at Carlson Gracie Tucson, we want to help parents and kids make a beneficial difference in their lives and in the Tucson community in general. Our Kids Brazilian Jiu Jitsu program and our Kids Muay Thai program helps to do just that.

Carlson Gracie Tucson Kids Jiu Jitsu

When it comes to self-defense, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) empowers a smaller individual to fight against a larger opponent. But the advantages don’t stop there. BJJ helps kids:

  • Build Confidence.
  • Improve Coordination and Body Awareness.
  • Enhance Focus.
  • Promote Physical Activity.
  • Boost Athleticism.
  • Build Strong Relationships.
  • Learn discipline
  • Foster respect for others
  • Promote Goal Setting.

Carlson Gracie Tucson Kids Muay Thai

Muay Thai, otherwise known as “Thai Boxing,” is both a dynamic and engaging martial art which is not only a perfect way for kids to stay or get in shape, but also gives them confidence from the knowledge and skills they learn to protect themselves. But that’s not all. Like BJJ it also helps kids:

  • Be active and become strong physically.
  • Build mental strength and toughness.
  • Become more independent.
  • Learn mindfulness and respect.
  • Improve attention and focus.
  • Boost their confidence.
  • Learn Self-defense.
  • Develop Social Skills.
  • Improve motor skills.

Our Kids BJJ and Muay Thai classes here at Carlson Gracie Tucson provide a safe, welcoming, and fun workout for your child while also allowing them to practice anti-bullying and self-defense. And just as importantly they will LOVE doing it as they become part of a one-of-a-kind community full of future friends and mentors.
